All courses hosted by the Gauteng Ice Hockey Association are presented by the Gauteng Referee in Chief (Mr F. Radue) in partnership with the South African ice Hockey Federation's Referee in Chef (Mr E. Scafturis) who is responsible for issuing accreditation to all attendees of such courses who meet the minimum requirements as set forth by the SAIHF and the IIHF.

This community does not tolerate abuse of officials. If you tolerate it; you are condoning it. Play your part, encourage sportsmanship.

It's time to test your skills and see if you have what it takes to manage an ice hockey game and encourage fair play throughout.

What should I bring?

• Copy of your 22/2023 IIHF Rule Book which can be downloaded below.
• Black pen & note pad
• There are facilities avaliable on site to purchase refreshments and snacks, however we do recommend that you bring your own with you.

What can I expect to gain from attending such a course?

Anyone who attends such a course will not only gain valuable knowledge and understanding into the world of refereeing, but will also recieve a better understanding of the rules and regulations set out by the SAIHF & IIHF that govern our sporting code. Attendees will all also recieve valuable knowledege that will aid in thier understanding of the game and its rules as well has how to implement them while officiating a match.

Who should attend this course?

• The course is available to anyone who would like to learn more about the sport and stay up-to-date with its rules and regulations.
• Anyone who just wants to become a referee.
